Zac Efron is the latest cover star of NYLON Guys magazine. NYLON TV were there to film the shoot as well as a few interview clips. Did you know, for example, that lately he has been listening to “a lot of Michael recently, Joy Division” and, wait for it…”early reggae”. The clip also has some good music in it, particularly Flaming Arrow by Jupiter One (listen below)
Some semi-interesting bits from the full interview:
On not skipping out on a showing of Me and Orson Welles: “It’s the first time I’ve ever watched a movie [that I’m in] and in the end I’m like, ‘OK! I didn’t check my watch once!’”
On whether celebrity albums are necessary: “If anyone asked themselves that, then we wouldn’t have the crap we are listening to today. If your heart’s not in it, don’t do it. And don’t do it for money. That’s my philosophy.”
On his Disney fame: “I try not to look at all of it. You can’t enjoy or celebrate it; it’s not a real thing. The face on the lunchbox and shit – you can’t share that with your friends.
He’ll next be starring in The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, which will be his second non-high school film, after Me and Orson Welles. I’m still disappointed that he dropped out of the Footloose remake though. Probably didn’t have enough early reggae songs in it.
Vodpod videos no longer available.

Oh Miley. If Disney hadn’t given your new Hannah Montana feature film different Irish and US release dates, it would be coming out here on the 10th April. Same date as the Irish release of your pal Zac Efron’s new movie, 17 Again.
I could have made a day of it. 10th April. A double bill of cheese. One with folk-dance routines and a cameo from Tyra Banks, the other with a newly-smouldering Zac Efron.
